What (or who) made you want to be a designer?
Well, truthfully it happened very organically. I just started helping people and when I saw how happy it made them, to come home to a space they were in love with, I found it to be very rewarding . I worked in politics and television for a very long time. I needed a creative outlet and took art and interior design classes and really loved it.
What is your favorite color palette right now? (can be paint color, PMS color, or whatever!)
I love chartreuse with pinks and black to ground it.
What is one thing that will never go out of style?
Original Art.
What is one thing you wish would go out of style!?
Man sandals! Ha. I really hate when something iconic is imitated. Just go for the Barcelona chair or the Eames Chair. There's nothing like the original design. If you can't afford a new one find a vintage one. Not sure that answered the question!
When choosing hardware for a project, what is typically your metal of choice?
Oh, I like all metals but tend to lean towards unlacquered brass and more natural finishes. However, it depends on the overall aesthetic!

Where do you go to for inspiration?
A fun restaurant. There are so many restaurants in Austin with inspiring interiors. Comedor is new and lovely inside. Or travel. I recently went on a West Texas road trip with a friend and found it to be inspiring in so many ways. Sometimes, just freeing up your mind is totally necessary. Helps you make room for new ideas!
Where are you traveling next?
Telluride for some hiking with girlfriends. That mountain air is so refreshing coming from hot Austin, Texas!
What was your very first car?
A black Nissan Maxima.
Who is your Style icon?
Oh, I would say my grandmothers. Absolutely. One was a true classic in every way. The other is an artist and always looks amazing down to the details.
Who is your favorite band/singer?
Zac Brown Band, Leon Bridges, Coldplay and I love Adam Levine.
What is currently in your shopping cart?
Hermes Oran Sandals. Can't pull the trigger but have loved them for years.
If you could go back in time, what advice would you give your younger self?
Take a deep breath and this too shall pass and just pick up the phone and check in on someone. I guess I can still live by that now!
